Not all people were meant to be in business

This is probably the hardest decision for people to make. I'd like to be my own boss and do things my way. There are a few questions you have to ask yourself. First, are you willing to put in the time and energy it takes to get a business off the ground? What type of start up capital does it require to start and promote the business your looking at. Are you knowledgeable in the field your looking to get into?

These are just a few of the things to consider if your thinking of handing in your resignation and going for the gold.

Keep in mind a business has two very distinct parts, the first part is offering goods or services that people will want, and the second part is knowing how to manage your business so it will become profitable. The second part seems to be the place where people have the most trouble. Not planning ahead, starting a business that is under-capitalized, poor management decisions.

Interesting post. I'd like to run my own business soon, so this is very helpful. Instead of starting one from scratch, I'd prefer to buy a business, maybe one that is home-based. Do you have any suggestions? Advice? Thanks.
